English National Cross Country Relays – Saturday 2nd November 2019
Berry Hill Park, Mansfield
We are very pleased to be sending teams to compete in the National Cross Country Relays.
The teams are confirmed below along with seats booked on the coach, the timetable and directions. The exact teams and running order will be agreed on the coach, so we can make the team declarations upon arrival. If for any reason you find yourself unable to compete, please contact our Team Manager – Deborah Steer as soon as possible. Deborah’s contact details can be found below.
The team bus will be leaving Westminster Lodge (near the Track entrance) at 7.30am promptly and returning by 6pm. There are several spare seats on the coach so if you are able to travel with us please do let us know. It’s a great way to build friendships and team spirit and we are very happy to have supporters come along – so please let us know if you are now able to join us. The club pays the team entries but ask for a contribution to travel costs of £7 per seat, payable on the coach – please try to bring correct change. If you would like a seat(s) but didn’t request one, please contact us. If you no longer plan to travel on the coach please let us know, so we don’t delay departing waiting for people unnecessarily.
The Course at Berry Hill has been meticulously prepared and reports from the venue state it is in good condition. The mixture of good parkland, a wooded section with lots of undulations and a fast finishing section make it a good course for the event and some exciting competition is expected. The course is excellent for spectators with multiple opportunities to see the runners.
There are changing facilities at Mansfield but catering facilities are limited, so we suggest everybody brings a packed lunch and snacks and drinks. Please avoid products containing nuts and don’t eat anything containing nuts on the coach or in the team tent.
You may also choose to bring a camp chair, ground sheet and or mini pop up tent – there will be plenty of storage under the bus. We suggest you do bring some cash in case you want to buy a T shirt and or any food or drink at the venue.
Its very important people pack waterproofs and range of different clothes, spare clean footwear and plastic bags / bin liners to carry wet or muddy clothing. You need to get back on the coach in reasonably clean dry clothes and footwear that will not deposit mud. Supporters please bring a camera and also consider bringing spare clothes and footwear.
All athletes must wear their club vest and its essential that members among the same age group team wear identical vests. Ie please don’t have some of the team in an AC vest and some in a Striders vest. If you don’t have a club vest that fits or the right vest please contact Nicky our Kit Manager immediately or order on our KIT page.
Many Thanks Fiona & Deborah
