As you know our 30 year old track has now been dug up and is to be replaced by a brand spanking new one, together with a face lift for the rest of the arena. We are extremely excited about this as it has been a long time coming – 15 years in fact – and feel that now is the right time to go forward and provide the quality of volunteering that the club relies on.

We are holding an Introduction to Volunteering Evening to be held on the 11th September at Garden Fields School starting at 7.30pm, which we hope you will be able to attend.

You don’t need any experience of athletics to volunteer – just an enthusiasm for the sport and a willingness to help out in whatever capacity takes your fancy. All help of whatever kind is greatly appreciated and as you can imagine, a club of our size takes a lot of parental support and whatever input you have can only improve the young athletes’ experiences.

At the Volunteering Evening we will have on hand a representative from England Athletics, members of our Committee, Coaching team, match Officials team and general volunteers who will be only too pleased to have a chat with you about what you can do to help.

Your support is valuable to us and with our new track, which we hope will be ready towards the end of October, we are hoping that many of you will come forward to offer this support and get involved with the Club in whatever capacity you are able and with the amount of time, however small, you are willing to provide.

Let’s do this together and relaunch the Club in style.

I look forward to meeting you on the 11th September.

Yours in Sport

Lynne Milner
